The Benefits of Tapping

Consciously conquer your life.

How tapping works

EFT is often described as "modern psychology meets eastern traditional medicine" or emotional acupuncture.  EFT combines gentle tapping on key acupuncture points while the client is asked to discuss or think about uncomfortable emotions, past traumas, food cravings, pain or any other problem.

While recalling these thoughts and emotions, the client is encouraged to tap on nine different acupuncture points and in doing so, sends a calming signal to the amygdala of the brain (a stress response center).

In the process, the "stress" is neutralized and the calming signal takes over in the brain, where a new neural pathway is created when recalling these emotions or events.

When you transform your neural patterns, you can build a new foundation of inner confidence and worry-free thinking.

We strive to eliminate the negative physical response that is tied to an emotion through EFT.

The history of EFT

EFT or "emotional freedom technique" was originally masterminded by a clinical psychologist named Roger Callahan.  Dr. Callahan was working with a patient who suffered from a life-long, debilitating fear of water.

Based on his studies of Chinese medicine, and after years of making little to no progress with his patient, Dr. Callahan instinctively one day began to tap on various acupressure points, while simultaneously talking through the patient's fear of water.  Much to the surprise of Doctor and patient, the water phobia was completely eliminated...permanently.

While this sounds far too good to be true, this phenomena is experienced every day by patients and practitioners working with EFT.  This technique was further developed and expanded by Gary Craig in the 1990s into what practitioners use today to free their clients of their emotional baggage.

By releasing this baggage, people experience positive cognitive shifts and physical ailments diminish.  EFT now falls into the up-and-coming field of "energy psychology".

Every day we learn more about how and why EFT is effective. It's being embraced by therapists and coaches around the world and researched and used clinically by a growing number of doctors and psychologists.
